Always loved Daisies – who doesn’t love daisies, right ? they pack so much happiness and freshness in such a small size : )
Designing this Shasta Daisy (of the Snowcap variety, Pattern can be found here) was a real joy, getting the petals right, was a bit tricky … but the more petals I crocheted the more I could see the blossom coming together, the less I could resist myself from wearing a silly grin.
Shasta Daisies are small to medium sized daisies, and, from what the internet told me, they are the most popular type of ‘traditional’ daisies. Some Shasta varieties have less petals (single layer) and some have more (two-three layers), some are beautifully organized and balanced and some or beautifully messy and chaotic. I focused on the Snowcap variety – with a quite large yellow center structure, and beautiful thin and balanced bright white petals.
I love how versatile they are, from being used in Table or Windowsill decor (Several in a pot) to bouquets (even a full Shasta Bouquet) to Flower Arrangements (as supporting pieces). You could even use them for boutonniere and floral pomanders to great effect!
